And How I’m Breaking Free
What if your favorite shows are actually your biggest obstacle?
What are your five favorite shows right now?
Go ahead, think about it. Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, whatever you’re streaming. The shows you can’t wait to go home and watch.
The ones that make you say, “just one more episode” at midnight when you know you should be sleeping.
I’ll go first: Dexter’s back and I’ve been hooked. Just finished The Chi — incredible show. The Foundation on Apple TV has me completely absorbed. Tulsa King (okay, it’s corny, but Sylvester Stallone, you know?). And Severance… don’t even get me started on how good that was.
Here’s what hit me the other day: I can remember when TV had a schedule. As a kid, cartoons came on early morning. Soap operas were for “housewives” in the afternoon.
Kung Fu Theater🥷 had its time slot. You bought a TV Guide to see what was on. Programming had a system, and that system controlled when you watched.
Now? We have the entire universe of television in our palms. Netflix, Hulu, Paramount Plus, HBO Max, Apple TV, Prime Video, AMC+… if you can afford the subscriptions, you literally have access to almost every show ever made.
